Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, several Youth Projects programs have been impacted and additional restrictions to service delivery enacted to ensure the safety of the people accessing our services, and the public more broadly. We will continue to stay open and remain incredibly committed to providing services to our community’s most vulnerable.

Community Health

  • The Living Room remains open with medical services still accessible. Basic needs such as showers, laundry facilities and care packages are still available but limited number of people permitted within the drop in space at any one time.  Throughput of shower and laundry facilities will reduced to allow for cleaning between use. 
    Screening protocols have been enacted at the front entrance.
  • After hours primary care nurses still operating on the streets. No longer attending shared accommodation facilities. Screening protocols have been enacted. 
 

Harm Reduction

  • Fixed Site and Mobile NSPs remain open and accessible. Social distancing measures have been enacted. No-contact protocols also enacted.
  • Foot Patrol remains active and accessible in the CBD. Social distancing measures have been enacted.
  • Proactive Overdose Response Initiative is working with other PORI agencies to develop state-wide operating procedures. No on-site or in-person training until otherwise advised.
  • Substance Misuse services remain open and accessible via The Living Room. Screening protocols and social distancing has been enacted on site.
  • AOD services for young people in the north western and eastern suburbs remains accessible. All face-to-face contacts have ceased – all contact is via phone, video call or email only. Crisis support is limited and determined based on the needs of an individual, case-by-case.

 
Employment, Training & Social Enterprise

  • Employment services continue to operate until otherwise advised by the Department.
  • All face-to-face appointments have ceased.
  • Contact with jobseekers and service users is now via phone, video call or email only.
  • Crisis support is limited and determined based on the needs of an individual, case-by-case.
  • Our social enterprise café (Good2Go) has now closed, indefinitely.
  • All training through Melbourne Training Options has moved to distance learning – no in-person training until further notice.
