Needle Syringe Program A public health initiative aimed at minimising the spread of blood-borne viruses among people who inject drugs and into the wider community. Our Needle Syringe Programs (NSPs) provide judgement free access to clean injecting equipment, safer using advice, safe syringe disposal units, information and referrals to other support services. These services are accessible to people at Glenroy, Melbourne's CBD and a wider catchment across Melbourne's North West region. We can provide Clean injecting equipment Needle and syringe safe collections Needle and syringe safe disposals Condoms and lube Safer using information Safe sex information Blood borne virus prevention education Support and referrals Fixed Site This is a fixed site service operated by highly skilled NSP workers and provides over the counter access to NSP provisions. Access is available via a side door entrance at Youth Projects HQ in Glenroy (6 Hartington Street, Glenroy). Available: 11.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday Call: (03) 9304 9100 North West Outreach Service (NWOS) This is a mobile, out-of-hours service that operates out of a car across Melbourne's North Western suburbs. Access is only available by calling either of the numbers below, letting our team know what you need and agreeing to meet at a mutually safe location. Available: 5.00pm - 10.30pm Everyday (Monday - Sunday) Call: 0418 170 556 or 1800 170 556 (free call) Foot Patrol (CBD) A confidential street-based, drug safety and outreach support service in Melbourne's CBD. Access is only available by calling either of the numbers below, letting our team know what you need and agreeing to meet at a mutually safe location within the CBD. Available: Monday to Friday:12:30pm - 4:45pm and 5:30pm - 9:45pm Saturday & Sunday:12:00pm – 3:15pm and 6:30pm – 9:45pm Public holidays will operate as per the hours above, depending on the day that the public holiday falls.
