Donate Cryptocurrency to Youth Projects

Making a cryptocurrency donation to support Youth Projects enables us to provide high impact support to young people and people experiencing homelessness, without judgement – full stop.

In 2022, Youth Projects supported over 5,200 people and their families through our high impact programs, and donating cryptocurrency will allow us to fund innovative new programs to meet the needs in the community. Much of what we do is under-funded - but the need still exists. And that's where crypto donations can play an important role in enabling us to create direct and immediate change in the community.

Support Youth Projects today by making a charitable gift in cryptocurrency - we accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and 100+ other leading cryptocurrencies. Or, check out other ways of supporting Youth Projects' meaningful work in the community.

How can I donate cryptocurrency to Youth Projects?

Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the widget on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process:

  1. Select your preferred crypto and enter your gift amount
  2. Type in your email and basic info (or choose to give anonymously)
  3. Make your gift!

Upon making a donation, you can elect to receive an automatically generated tax receipt that will be sent to the email address you provide. This confirmation of your donation will help you close the loop when calculating your taxes. Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the widget - do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation. For more info, click here.

Crypto charitable donations are processed quickly and safely with The Giving Block and Gemini Trust Exchange.

Why does Youth Projects accept cryptocurrency?

Crypto Philanthropy is a new and thrilling fundraising avenue for nonprofit organisations like Youth Projects. With more than 300 million crypto users worldwide and the value of many cryptocurrencies rising, the crypto community is able to make a wide-reaching impact through philanthropy. Donating crypto is also one of the most tax-efficient ways for individuals to support causes that matter to them. We are excited about what the future holds in the crypto and blockchain space and believe that we’ve just scratched the surface of its true fundraising potential.

Are crypto donations tax deductible?

By making a charitable gift, you may also be eligible to significantly reduce what you would otherwise owe in capital gains taxes. Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. If you pay taxes in the U.S., your crypto donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Please consult with your financial planner or tax advisor to determine your tax benefits or check out the Australian Taxation Office website for more information.
