Here4Hospitality

Here4Hospitality is an intensive, industry-specific job readiness program supporting young people living with different abilities to participate in experiential learning, immersive training, and transition into industry traineeships.

Young people aged 16 to 25 years have an opportunity to participate in Here4Hospitality to be ready and prepared for meaningful employment in the Hospitality industry. Those living with autism, an intellectual disability, and/or a psychosocial disability are encouraged to apply.

As part of Here4Hospitality, young people will:

  • Be buddied-up with an industry mentor to support you through the program.
  • Participate in 4-week intensive pre-employment training with Youth Projects and The Little Social to meet the needs and expectations required to work in the hospitality industry.
  • Build their confidence, work-readiness, and motivation.
  • Learn workplace expectations, positive behaviours, benefits of working, connectedness, and participate in real interviews with potential employers.
  • Complete an accredited short course through William Angliss and gain a Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handlers certificate. As well as completing pre-accredited courses in ‘Introduction to Hospitality’ and ‘Barista Workshops’
  • Prepare for and be placed into a traineeship at The Little Social to build skills and confidence, while working towards long term employment goals.

A dedicated Youth Coach will work alongside each young person and their mentor to create an inclusive learning model where individuals can share experiences and learning, to build a connected community that supports each other and access Youth Projects’ holistic Social Model of Care for the duration of the participation in Here4Hospitality.
