Our services Jobs & Training Healthcare Career Jumpstart Program Healthcare Career Jumpstart supports young people who are experiencing challenges to gain meaningful employment. Our program has an emphasis on engaging young people from a range of diverse communities. Register your interest Healthcare Career Jumpstart enables life-changing opportunities for young people who are currently unemployed by developing the necessary skills and training alongside individualised, youth-specialist support. Our unique program supports young people to understand employers' needs and develop the necessary skills, attitudes, and behaviours that will help them secure and maintain employment within the healthcare sector. Support includes: Developing practical skills to be job-ready Understanding what employers want (and why) Connecting with education or other training opportunities Building confidence and positive communication skills Knowing where to look for local job opportunities Building confidence and positive communication skills Our connected services Every young person participating in the program also has access to additional support for mental health, alcohol, and other drug counselling, accredited vocational training, and other Youth Projects services to ensure you receive the most effective support based on your own goals, aspirations, and needs. A two-week program to prepare and skill you for healthcare career roles Week 1 Introduction to healthcare industries, exploring different healthcare roles based on qualifications, experience and skillsets. Recognising skillsets required in healthcare job positions, understanding how to prepare for work, addressing barriers to employment and the benefits of working. Creating resumes and cover letters for healthcare roles as well as navigating job search platforms. Focusing on positivity and wellbeing by building confidence, developing emotional intelligence and adapting lifestyle habits. Accredited unit: SITXWHS005 Participate in Safe Work PracticesDelivery of Accredited unit by iTFE - Registered Training Organisation - Statement of Attainment to be issued. Week 2 Interview techniques, practicing interviews, types of interviews and addressing potential barriers. Your rights at work, types of workplace policies (appropriate use of social media etc). Communication styles, barriers to good communication, using positive body language. Developing an action plan to start your employment journey. Industry and career information sessions with healthcare partners, and ways to seek employment. Accredited unit: SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safetyDelivery of Accredited unit by iTFE - Registered Training Organisation - Statement of Attainment to be issued.
