Queer Psychosocial Outreach Program (QPOP)

Youth Projects' Queer Psychosocial Outreach Program (QPOP) is an initiative aimed at providing essential support to LGBTIQA+ youth, specifically those with varying abilities such as autism, ADHD and psychosocial challenges, in Melbourne's western suburbs.

The outreach team works with young, LGBTIQA+ people aged 12-25 experiencing mental health issues, neurodiversity, and psychosocial barriers in the Wyndham/Werribee area. Young people can access support for up to 6-months to overcome barriers and provide tailored support based on the outcomes, goals, and aspirations of each young person.

QPOP meets you where you’re at! As outreach workers we can meet you wherever you’re most comfortable.

What we do

  • Work with young people aged 12 - 25 years for up to 26-weeks
  • Actively listen to help you identify your goals and create an individualised mentoring and support plan.
  • Provide coaching and counselling to support your psychological wellbeing.
  • Link you up with the right supporting people or organisations to ensure long-term support.
  • Treat you fairly, respectfully and with cultural sensitivity at all times.
