Casey, a promising young person with aspirations of pursuing a career in business management, was involved in a severe car accident that impacted his physical and mental well-being. An accident that saw him unable to work and was on the brink of homelessness.

Despite these setbacks, Casey reached out for help – knowing that he just needed a hand-up to get back on his feet. Casey was determined and reached out to the Youth Projects and Frontyard teams for essential assistance to get support with food, hygiene necessities, and transportation support.

Through the combined efforts of two Youth Projects programs, Casey received the necessary support to apply and interview for a full-time, work-from-home customer service position with the renowned organisation.

Casey's hard work and perseverance paid off when they were offered the position, providing an opportunity to work and earn while simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management. This is something Casey shared as his long-term goal, and we’re excited to see him graduate later in 2023.

To ensure Casey was well-equipped for the role, the Transition to Work (TTW) team at Youth Projects assisted in sourcing a compatible laptop with specific software and helped set up a comfortable home workspace complete with a desk and chair. This ensured Casey was set up to sustain his new job and take the pressure off other day-to-day living stresses.

TTW is dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 15-24 by facilitating their transition into the workforce, education, or apprenticeships and providing them with essential support.

Young people like Casey have secured jobs in a range of industries including Retail, Hospitality, Trades & Services, Logistics & Transport, Administration, Healthcare, Construction, Warehousing, and more through our Transition to Work program.

The future looks bright for Casey as they embark on this new chapter of their journey.
