A few of our Good2Go regulars might recognise this guy - Angelo was one of our superstar trainees at Good2Go early last year.

After a stint in our Transition to Work, Angelo was quick to jump on the opportunity to participate in our 4-week social enterprise trainee program at Good2Go down on Hosier Lane. Within a very short time, Angelo had started to realise his true potential and his confidence grew brighter each day.

Through hands on training and mentoring from industry experts, it wasn’t long before Angelo had mastered the art of a perfect latte and his people skills flourished. Angelo's friendly demeanour became almost as infamous as his artfully-curated music selections at Good2Go.

"The team have really helped me gain some solid experience and I've met so many interesting people. Their stories are inspiring.”

As his trainee program started to round out, Angelo was closely supported by our youth-specialist employment coaches to hit the job applications. Soon enough, he landed himself a role at local churro masters, San Churro.

We continued to stay connected with Angelo to ensure that he was supported well into his new role.

As part of our ongoing employment support, we linked Angelo into one of our outreach programs to assist him with finding a safe and affordable place to live (and all that comes with moving into your first pad).

We made sure no stone was left unturned – we covered everything from budgeting, finding rentals, tenant rights, the costs and checklists of moving and even the sorts of questions to ask in flat mate interviews. We did almost daily check-ins to make sure anything new that emerged throughout the moving process could be addressed quickly.

Everything we discussed with Angelo, he took the initiative to action straight away. Our Youth Coach shared with us just how driven and extremely independent Angelo has become and that it’s such a pleasure working with such a strong young person. Then we got the news that Angelo and his partner had secured their own private rental (all while Melbourne was teetering between stage 3 and 4 lockdowns).

We kept up with our regular check-ins and helped to source white goods, furniture and a few pantry kick starters to get Angelo settled in his new digs.

Angelo and his partner are now settled into their new slice of paradise that they can happily call, home. And, honestly – we couldn’t have been happier for them!
