Our 2023 Impact Report has landed! Youth Projects is excited to launch our 2023 Impact Report – a reflection on the impact created through our six service domains across dozens of communities in the past year. Demand on assistance from our services hit historically high numbers, with no sign of abating. So, we set out on a mission to deepen our impact and grow into new communities where young people needed our support. It was an enormous challenge, but we stepped up to create real (and meaningful) change. We experienced a rise in co-occurring complexities as young people struggled with poor mental health and confidence, underdeveloped social skills, financial and housing insecurities, and a lack of social networks – all critical factors that impact personal development and wellbeing. This underscored the need for our holistic approach, addressing intersecting needs for thousands of young people across Melbourne. Read our 2023 Impact Report here Our 2023 Impact Report shares the tangible outcomes and positive impact that we achieved. But, here’s a sneak-peak: Supported more than 2,864 young people across our youth outreach, employment, training and social enterprise programs into work, education and re-engaged back into the community. Took our youth outreach out to the West in response to an emerging mental and social wellbeing crisis whilst still supporting 422 young people in the North. Sold over 250,000 coffees at The Little Social and re-invested over $100K back into youth and homelessness services here at Youth Projects. Experienced 12,497 client visits at The Living Room – with the number of people dropping-in each day, doubling. Shared over 8,875+ meals, 14,471+ practical supports and over 2,678 health promotion + counselling sessions at The Living Room After hours, our Night Nurses provided 3,243 episodes of care and our NSPs saw almost 15,000 contacts. And… we opened our fourth social enterprise café at the Victorian Pride Centre, re-opened The Living Room as a world-class centre AND launched The Little Social Catering Co. too! Our extraordinary growth in 2023 reaffirms our commitment to addressing the evolving needs of young people and people experiencing homelessness for decades to come. As we look toward the next 12-months, our focus remains on strengths-based approaches and collaborating with individuals to enhance their mental, physical, and social well-being.
