As the temperature rises, so do the challenges for those experiencing homelessness. Summer can be unbearable for people without a safe place to sleep, leaving them vulnerable to dehydration, heatstroke, and dangerous conditions. This festive season, The Living Room is asking for your urgent support to ensure that those who need it most are supported with life-saving essentials and care.

Why Summer is Hard for the Homeless
Over 123,000 Australians face homelessness each night, and during the summer months, their challenges increase. Without a safe place to cool off or basic necessities like food, water and shelter, surviving in extreme heat becomes a daily challenge. The holidays, often a time of celebration for many, are incredibly difficult for those sleeping rough, couch-surfing, sleeping in cars or temporary accommodation.

How Can You Help?

Your support directly impacts the lives of those who need it most. Here's how your help will make a difference:

  • Monetary Donations:  Financial support allows us to offer essential medical care, emergency services, and ongoing support to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Living Room is drastically underfunded, so your contribution can ensure we continue to provide a safe, welcoming space for people to access food, showers and medical care throughout the summer.
  • Volunteer with Youth Projects: We need volunteers to help us pack essential material donations from a partner warehouse and transport them directly to The Living Room. Make a hands on impact and apply to volunteer with us today
