Health services are primarily delivered via The Living Room - an innovative, free primary health service for people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness. A unique place makes people feel welcome and respected, providing access to a GP, seeing a nurse, charging your phone, taking a shower, washing your clothes, getting something to eat and reducing social isolation.
Through the provision of free access to health and social support services we focus on the social determinants of health, to look beyond illness or disease to see the whole person.
Our health services are staffed by a dedicated multi disciplinary team that includes General Practitioners, Nurses, Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Specialists, Welfare Workers and Complimentary Therapists who share a passion for social inclusion, justice, equality and community understanding.
This is only service of its kind in Melbourne and aims at getting to the core of complex challenges to help people transition out of homelessness with empowering and sustainable solutions tailored to individual needs.
