Getting you through COVID-19 There is so much information floating about on the internet right now and we know it can be overwhelming, so we've decided to pull together some of the most helpful resources around (plus a few tips and tools) to help make the next few weeks a little bit easier. Practice mindfulness This could be going for a walk around the block to get some fresh air or trying some yoga or meditation. Throw in a bit more physical and try doing yoga or pilates (YouTube can be your new best friend here) Writing One of the most incredible things is that we are literally living a part of history right now, so why not write it down. Spend 10-15 minutes each morning writing in a journal. Write down how you're feeling, what things are helping you today and maybe set a few goals to check in with tomorrow. Learn something new Whether it’s finally maintaining your streak on Duolingo, or attending an online workshop/webinar, developing skills and knowledge is a great way to practice self-care. Extra kudos if it’s a creative skill you can practice at home to keep you entertained, or to sell on Etsy as a side hustle! Host a (virtual) houseparty What a better way to keep your social life alive right now than with a houseparty?! Obviously we can't do something IRL, so download the houseparty app and stay connected with your friends. If not, get on the text line or go full old-school and pick up the phone to call your mates. Physical distancing might have put in a dent in your social life, but not even self iso can curb your vibe. Gardening Now we're not all claiming to be total green thumbs, but now is a good a time as any to try your luck at creating yourself a little indoor forest. Like, you can even buy plants online and get them delivered to your door! Or maybe you've got some wild succulents that could be propagated? You can even take part in a national Landcare campaign with just a phone and the plants around your house. Get creative Surely this doesn't need any further explanation? Get those creative juices flowing and unearth your inner Banksy. Paint, sketch, sculpt, draw a mandala, make a collage, paper mache, create poetry, write a book, brush up on your photography or even make a zine. Take a virtual tour Visit some of Australia (and the world's) most infamous hotspots without having to actually go anywhere. Take a virtual tour of the National Gallery of Victoria, or go on a wild tour of the Great Barrier Reef (narrated by Sir David Attenborough himself), go inside the animal closures at Melbourne Zoo. Or go full international and hit up the Guggenheim in New York or the grandiose of the British History Museum.
