As part of YouthFest Week, Youth Projects joined in by creating a digital art competition, ArtSplash, proudly supported by YouthFest and the Victorian Government. Open to young people aged 15 to 24, this initiative invited young people to express themselves through digital artwork, responding to the theme: "Express yourself - Art speaks where words are unable to explain."

Young artists were encouraged to envision a world where challenges become stepping stones for growth, asking them how they see themselves breaking barriers, connecting with others, and shaping their futures. The competition highlighted the importance of creativity as a tool for change, urging young artists to share their stories and inspire others through their work.

The response was overwhelming, with a multitude of incredible submissions that made it difficult for us to narrow down our finalists. Each piece showcased unique perspectives on overcoming obstacles, embracing diversity, and celebrating individual talents.

A Celebration of Talent

Yesterday, we celebrated with the top finalists at our Werribee Hub, sharing their creations, announcing the winners, and connecting through art.

The event was a testament to the power of creativity in fostering community and encouraging dialogue among young people.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their bravery in sharing their stories and talents. ArtSplash has not only showcased the extraordinary skills of our youth but has also reinforced the vital role of art in expressing and addressing the challenges we face.

Let’s continue to encourage our young artists to keep creating and inspiring change!
