Interim CEO appointment As we approach 2025, Youth Projects announces we will experience a significant leadership transition. After seven years of dedicated service, our CEO, Ben Vasiliou, has announced he will be stepping down, marking the end of an extraordinary era for the organisation. Under Ben’s leadership, Youth Projects has reached remarkable milestones, from expanding our impact across communities, to strengthening our financial health, governance, and innovative programs. He leaves the organisation in a strong position, ready for our next chapter. “It’s time for me to pass the baton,” Ben shared, reflecting on his journey and the immense pride he feels in what we’ve achieved together. Although he will no longer serve as CEO, Ben has made it clear that he will remain a lifelong advocate and friend of Youth Projects. To ensure a seamless transition, the Board of Youth Projects is pleased to announce that Trent Miller, our Executive Manager of Employment, Training and Social Enterprise, will serve as Interim CEO from January 17, 2025, until a new CEO is appointed. The Board has engaged an external recruitment consultant to identify our next CEO, and advertising for this role will begin shortly. In the meantime, we have full confidence in Trent’s ability to lead Youth Projects forward as we continue our important work supporting communities, addressing poverty and disadvantage, and delivering impactful programs. Trent brings a wealth of experience from across the social impact sector and has been a key part of the Youth Projects team since 2018. His proven leadership and passion for social justice and dedication to our mission make him well-equipped to guide the organisation through this transition and beyond. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to a smooth and successful transition in the months to come. Please join us in thanking Ben for his exceptional leadership and in supporting Trent as he steps into this new and exciting role. Changes take effect on the 17th of January 2025.
