Every day spent working with us, you will be making a difference. The stronger our frontline warriors, the bigger our impact in breaking the cycle of disadvantage. And as a way of saying thanks to our crew, Youth Projects provides a vast range of employment conditions and benefits, over and above industry and legislative standards.

Salary packaging

Because we operate as a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation and are recognised as a charity by the Australian Tax Office, we are able to provide some pretty amazing salary packaging options.

This initiative can reap beneficial tax savings for our employees (on average, $5,500 each per year!) We offer salary packaging on general living expenses and entertainment benefits which means you can pay for things like your rent, mortgage, school fees and bills from your pre-tax salary. Our employees also have access to novated leasing of cars and mortgage reviews (through our provider AccessPay) to help them save even more.

Additional Leave Benefits
  • Annual leave + leave loading: Youth Projects understands how important it is to rest and recharge. Our employees receive an additional 17.5% annual leave loading to spend on their holidays and receive 20 days of annual leave (for full-time employees and pro-rata for part-time employees).
  • Paid Caregiver Leave: We also support our employees and their growing families by providing generous paid caregiver leave in addition to the Federal Governments Parental Leave Pay. Primary caregivers who are employed on a full and part time basis can access up to 12 weeks paid caregivers leave, and non-primary caregivers up to 4 weeks paid leave. This leave is greater than anything available in our sectors – and that’s something we’re very proud of!
  • Family and domestic violence leave: We understand how tough family and domestic violence situations are, and that’s why we are committed to providing leave and other supports to staff that are affected by domestic and family violence. All employees (including casuals) can access 5 days of paid leave, which is available from the first day of employment, in full. This is available with no judgement, full stop.
  • Paid sick & carer's leave: Youth Projects employees entitled to an extra 5 days of paid personal leave per year of service.

On top of all of that, we’ve got many other benefits too….
