About the Role

We are on the lookout for a dynamic Youth Enterprise Co-ordinator to join our growing team on a full time, 12-month contract. As our Youth Enterprise Co-ordinator, you will work closely with our Social Enterprise Leader in being the central point of contact of day-to-day oversight of our new social enterprise café at the Alfred Hospital (opening in 2020!), co-ordinate our team of café staff to provide and deliver the highest levels of customer service and hospitality service and provide hands-on mentoring and support trainees placed in our cafes.

You will be joining a brand new team at our brand new social enterprise cafe opening at The Alfred Hospital in 2020! Our new social enterprise cafe is be a bespoke coffee bar that brews the finest espresso, serves nutritious food and empowers young people to lead meaningful lives by providing hands-on skills development and mentoring from industry experts. Each young person will have a platform to build self confidence, gain key employability skills and genuine work experience in a supportive and judgement free environment. 

What you'll bring:

This is a unique role and we need you to be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • 3+ years Hospitality and/or Barista experience
  • Previous experience and undertaking or completed qualifications in youth work, social work or related disciplines
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, inclusive of all people and all abilities
  • Proven ability to meet targets
  • Passion and dedication for community development and social justice principles
  • Self-motivated at the ability to work autonomously

    Must Have’s

    • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (a must have!)
    • Valid Passport/Australian Working Rights
