Make Your Own | Household Techno This school holidays, learn how to compose high-energy beats using everyday household objects! Led by Naarm-based artist Ryan Powderly, we will explore the key elements of rhythm, texture, and structure with the musical potential of household items. Using these new skills we will build a collaborative, dynamic techno track using objects found around our Sunshine Youth Hub. No prior skills are required to participate. Date: Friday 21st April Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Location: Youth Projects, Sunshine Cost: Absolutely FREE Ages: 12 - 25 Registrations are essential (spots will fill fast!) About Ryan: Ryan Powderly is a DJ, producer, and recent University of Melbourne music graduate, responsible for a streak of inspired and stir-crazy Household Techno videos made during the lockdowns. These videos led to live-streaming Household Techno collaborations with thousands of Twitch viewers, creating household bangers for milk and sneaker commercials, and running weekly music workshops for young people throughout Melbourne. Outside of hosting workshops, Ryan is a member of the multi-faceted label Pelvis; a celebration of dance music culture through parties, spatial design, clothing, and music.
