Preventing homelessness and unemployment

Youth Projects is again delivering its youth specialist employment services. We are providing the Transition to Work program for Melbourne’s North West region, one of the nation’s “hot spots” for youth disadvantage and unemployment. We’re providing this program through our membership of peak body CoAct with whom we have successfully delivered youth employment programs for many years.

The Transition to Work service provides ntensive, pre-employment support to improve the work-readiness of young people and help them into work (including apprenticeships and traineeships) or education. The service has a strong focus on helping young people to understand what is expected in the workplace and to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours expected by employers.

Youth Projects has a strong record of success working with at risk youth with high impact support. We know the power of jobs and education in transforming lives and communities. Our new team start at our Glenroy youth hub and multiple locations in the north west. Our approach is inclusive, flexible, non-traditional and non-judgemental.

Already we have assited 230 at risk teens back into employment or study this year, in one of the most successful youth emplooyment programs in Australia.

Our new youth centre at our headquaters in Hartington St, Glenroy  is a multipurpose  space designed in consultation with local young people to meet the needs they identified for activity, connection, creativity and access to  integrated support services.
